Previous Article Next Article Nearly a quarter of employees reactadversely to change in a company’s HR policy, resulting in weaker employmentrelations and a greater sense of job insecurity among staff.These are the findingsof CIPD research into the effects of change in the workplace.Redundancy programmes,for example, have a particularly damaging effect on those who remain in thecompany.Mike Emmott, CIPDemployee relations adviser, said, “These findings are not good news fororganisations. Across a spectrum of policies, many intended for their benefit,employees judge that the impact is negative.”This underlinesthe need for employers to look hard at the way they implement change.”But staff are positiveabout wider change, for example the increasing use of the Internet.
