For the next edition of our countdown, let’s turn to a rangy freshman who’s headed for a featured role on OSU’s defense. How he got to OSURodarius, or “Lee Lee” as he goes by, held offers from 16 schools including Oklahoma, Baylor, Missouri and several others. The three-star cornerback from Calvary Baptist Academy (Shreveport, La.) stuck with his OSU commit even after the offers piled in.What he’s done in StillwaterSpent last year redshirting and put on 10 pounds in the weight room. Now the athletic 6-1 defensive back is 180 and should be ready for his needed role this fall.Role in 2017We will know for sure later this week, but it sounds like Williams has a good shot at a starting corner spot opposite A.J. Green. If not, he’s a lock for the two-deep. Glenn Spencer talked about him and Green and revealed that moving Ramon Richards to safety was, in part, to get these younger corners on the field.During Oklahoma State’s media day, we spoke with Williams about the secondary and how going up possibly the best receiving corps in the country has helped speed along his own development.“We all come together as a group,” Williams told PFB. “We have the best wide receiver corps so going up against those guys everyday is pretty much making the game slow down, much easier for us. We’re all coming together just playing as one.”He also talked about the coaching staff, namely Mike Gundy and Glenn Spencer, and how they’ve helped accelerate his growth.“Just learning from those men who’ve been in the game a long time,” said Williams. “Learning everything from them and how they look at the game and how I look at the game. It’s totally different because I was young, just basing it off speed and athleticism. I had to learn that it’s more of a technique game, which they showed me. Now I’m playing much better.”Noteworthy stats and highlightsThe all-state senior recorded 38 tackles and five passes defended. Williams showed a nose for the ball as well picking off four passes and turning two into scores. Here’s a look at some of his high school film which starts with one of those pick-6s.
